Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 24 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of maisonaurele.co and any purchases made from Maison Auréle. By accessing our website, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our website.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights available to you under the laws of your country.
01About Maison Auréle
This website is operated by:
- Trading name
- Maison Auréle
- contact@maisonaurele.co
- Website
- maisonaurele.co
Throughout these Terms, “Maison Auréle”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the business identified above. “You” and “your” refer to any visitor or customer using our website.
Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform through which we offer our products.
02Eligibility and Website Use
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
- You are at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- The information you provide is accurate and complete.
- You are purchasing products for personal use unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- You will not use our website or products for unlawful or unauthorised purposes.
You must not
- Introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful technology.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our website, systems or customer accounts.
- Scrape, copy or commercially exploit our website without permission.
- Interfere with the security or operation of our website.
- Use false information or impersonate another person.
- Use our website in a way that infringes the rights of Maison Auréle or another party.
We may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
03Product Information
We aim to present our products, descriptions, materials, measurements, colours and images as accurately as reasonably possible. However:
- Colours may appear differently depending on your device and screen settings.
- Natural materials such as leather, suede, linen and cotton may have minor variations in colour, grain or texture.
- Measurements may vary slightly due to production methods.
- Product packaging may occasionally differ from the images shown.
- Images are presented for illustration and may include styling items that are not included with the purchased product.
Minor variations inherent to natural materials or craftsmanship are not automatically considered defects. This does not affect your rights if a product is faulty, damaged or materially different from its description.
We may update product information or discontinue products without prior notice. Changes will not affect orders already accepted by us.
04Prices, Currencies and Taxes
Product prices are displayed in the currency selected on our website or determined by your location.
Before you place an order, the checkout will show:
- The price of the products.
- Applicable discounts.
- Shipping charges.
- Taxes collected by us.
- The total amount payable.
Prices and promotions may change at any time before an order is placed. A later price change does not affect an order that we have already accepted.
Currency conversions displayed on our website may be approximate. Your bank or payment provider may apply a different exchange rate or charge additional transaction fees. Maison Auréle does not control these charges.
Import Duties
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes or handling fees imposed by the destination country.
Where these charges are not collected during checkout and the checkout does not expressly state that duties are included, they may be payable by the recipient. We recommend checking local import rules before ordering.
Nothing in this section limits our obligation to clearly disclose costs where required by applicable consumer law.
05Placing an Order
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products.
After submitting the order, you will receive an electronic acknowledgement. This confirms that we received your order but does not necessarily mean that it has been accepted.
A binding sales contract is formed when we:
- Send confirmation that the order has been accepted or dispatched; or
- Otherwise expressly confirm our acceptance.
Refusing or Cancelling an Order
We may refuse or cancel an order for legitimate reasons, including:
- A product being unavailable.
- An obvious pricing or product-information error.
- Payment authorisation failing.
- Suspected fraud or unauthorised payment activity.
- The order appearing to be intended for unauthorised resale.
- Shipping restrictions affecting the destination.
- Incorrect or incomplete customer information.
If payment has already been collected for an order we cannot accept, we will refund the amount paid through the original payment method.
06Pricing Errors
Although we take reasonable care, a product may occasionally be listed with an incorrect price or description.
If an error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as an error, we may contact you to:
- Confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price; or
- Cancel the affected order and issue a full refund.
We will not change the price of an accepted order unless you expressly agree or the law allows us to do so.
07Payment
Available payment methods are displayed during checkout and may vary by country.
By submitting payment information, you confirm that:
- You are authorised to use the selected payment method.
- The billing information provided is accurate.
- Sufficient funds or credit are available to complete the purchase.
Payments are processed by specialist third-party payment providers. We do not generally receive or store your complete payment-card details.
Some payment methods, including buy-now-pay-later services, may be subject to additional terms and eligibility checks from the relevant provider. Any separate credit agreement is between you and that provider.
08Order Changes and Cancellations
Contact us as soon as possible at contact@maisonaurele.co if you need to change or cancel an order.
We cannot guarantee that an order can be changed or cancelled after it has entered processing or been dispatched.
If we cannot cancel the order in time, you may still have the right to return it after delivery under our Return and Exchange Policy and applicable consumer law.
09Shipping and Delivery
Available delivery methods, estimated delivery periods and shipping costs are shown during checkout or in our Shipping Policy.
Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree to a guaranteed delivery date. Delays may occur because of customs inspections, carrier disruptions, severe weather, incorrect address information or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. If an order is returned because the address was incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible, we may charge reasonable additional delivery costs where permitted by law.
For consumers, responsibility for loss or damage generally passes to you when you or a person designated by you physically receives the order.
If tracking shows delivery but you cannot locate the parcel, contact us promptly so we can investigate with the delivery provider.
10EU and UK Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you generally have the legal right to withdraw from an eligible online purchase without giving a reason.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a person designated by you, receives the goods. For an order delivered in separate shipments, the period begins when the final item is received.
To exercise this right, notify us before the withdrawal period expires by:
- Submitting a request through maisonaurele.co/pages/request-a-return; or
- Emailing an unambiguous withdrawal statement to contact@maisonaurele.co.
After notifying us, you must return the products within 14 days.
Condition of Returned Products
You may inspect a product as you reasonably would in a physical shop. You may be responsible for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the product’s nature, characteristics and fit.
Where reasonably possible, products should be returned:
- Unworn, other than for fitting.
- Unwashed and unaltered.
- With original labels and accessories.
- In their original or similarly protective packaging.
The absence of original packaging does not automatically remove a mandatory withdrawal right, but you remain responsible for returning the product safely.
Refunds Following Withdrawal
For valid withdrawals, we will refund:
- The product price.
- The standard outbound delivery charge, where legally required.
- Any other amount that applicable law requires us to refund.
Additional costs resulting from choosing a more expensive delivery method than our least expensive standard option are not refundable unless required by law.
Refunds will be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. We may withhold the refund until we receive the returned products or you provide evidence that they have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Exceptions
The right of withdrawal may not apply to:
- Products made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
- Sealed goods unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed.
- Other products legally excluded from the withdrawal right.
These exceptions only apply to the extent permitted by law.
11Maison Auréle Return Policy
In addition to mandatory consumer rights, Maison Auréle offers eligible customers a 14-day return period with no restocking fee.
Returns must be requested through our official return process: Return and Exchange Policy.
Where our website advertises free returns, Maison Auréle will provide return instructions or a prepaid return label for eligible returns made through our official process. If you independently choose another return method without our agreement, those costs may not be reimbursed.
Products must comply with the conditions in our Return and Exchange Policy.
Our commercial return policy does not reduce any mandatory legal rights you may have.
12Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products
Inspect your order after delivery and contact us promptly if an item is:
- Faulty.
- Damaged during delivery.
- Incorrect.
- Missing.
- Materially different from its description.
Please provide your order number, a description of the problem and clear photographs where reasonably possible.
If a product does not conform to the sales contract, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund under applicable law.
For EU consumers, products are covered by a minimum two-year legal guarantee of conformity. Some countries provide longer protection. Dutch consumer law may provide protection based on the reasonably expected lifespan of the product.
There is no charge for legally required remedies relating to confirmed faulty or non-conforming products.
These legal rights are separate from our voluntary 14-day return policy.
13Exchanges
Exchanges are subject to product availability.
Where a requested size or product is unavailable, we may offer:
- A different product.
- Store credit, with your agreement.
- A refund through the original payment method.
Any price difference must be paid or refunded as applicable.
14Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotions and discount codes may have separate conditions, including:
- Start and end dates.
- Eligible products.
- Minimum order values.
- Customer or geographic restrictions.
- Limits on how many times a code may be used.
Unless stated otherwise:
- Only one discount code may be used per order.
- Codes cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Codes cannot be applied after an order has been placed.
- Promotions cannot be combined.
- Discounts do not apply to shipping charges or gift cards.
We may cancel a discount or promotion if it is used fraudulently, unlawfully or contrary to its published conditions.
Statutory return and guarantee rights also apply to discounted and sale products.
15Customer Accounts
You may be able to create an account to view orders and manage personal information.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential.
- Restricting access to your account and devices.
- Ensuring your account information remains accurate.
- Notifying us promptly about suspected unauthorised access.
We may suspend an account where reasonably necessary to protect you, Maison Auréle or another person.
16Reviews, Images and Other Submissions
If you submit a review, photograph, comment, suggestion or other content, you confirm that:
- You created it or have permission to share it.
- It is accurate and not misleading.
- It does not violate another person’s rights.
- It is not unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or malicious.
- It does not contain malware, spam or undisclosed advertising.
You grant Maison Auréle a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and adapt the submitted content for operating and promoting our business.
We may moderate or remove content that violates these Terms. We are not required to publish every submission.
17Intellectual Property
The website and its content—including the Maison Auréle name, branding, designs, text, photography, graphics, videos, product presentation and website layout—belong to Maison Auréle or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may use the website for personal, non-commercial shopping purposes.
Without prior written permission, you may not:
- Reproduce or republish substantial website content.
- Use our images or product descriptions commercially.
- Copy or imitate our branding.
- Create derivative commercial materials.
- Use automated tools to extract substantial website data.
- Suggest an endorsement or partnership that does not exist.
18Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may contain services, tools or links provided by third parties, such as payment providers, social-media platforms and delivery services.
Third parties may apply their own terms and privacy policies. Maison Auréle is not responsible for third-party websites or services outside our reasonable control.
This does not affect our responsibilities regarding your order or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
19Availability of the Website
We aim to keep our website secure and available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may temporarily restrict access for:
- Maintenance.
- Security updates.
- Technical problems.
- Platform changes.
- Circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We are not responsible for minor interruptions that do not affect an accepted order or your mandatory consumer rights.
20Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
- Breach of mandatory consumer rights.
- Any other liability that applicable law prohibits us from excluding.
For consumers, we are responsible for losses that are a reasonably foreseeable consequence of our breach of these Terms.
We are not responsible for losses caused solely by:
- Incorrect information supplied by you.
- Unauthorised use of your account that was not caused by us.
- Events outside our reasonable control.
- Use of a product contrary to supplied instructions.
- Business or commercial use where the product was sold for private use.
We are not liable to consumers for purely commercial losses such as lost profit, lost business or business interruption.
21Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, carrier disruptions, customs delays, war, government action, epidemics, internet outages or failures of essential third-party infrastructure.
We will take reasonable steps to reduce the effects of such an event and keep affected customers informed.
If the disruption becomes substantial, you may have the right to cancel the affected order and receive a refund as required by law.
22Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
23Severability
If a court or authority finds part of these Terms unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
24No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not mean that we waive the right to enforce it later.
25Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any contract between you and Maison Auréle are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
If you are a consumer living outside the Netherlands, this choice of law does not remove the mandatory consumer protections provided by the laws of your usual country of residence.
We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern directly.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from bringing a claim before a court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer law, including courts in the consumer’s country of residence where legally permitted.
26Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when our services, policies, technology or legal obligations change.
The Terms in effect when an order is placed will govern that purchase. Changes will not retroactively reduce your rights under an already accepted order.
The latest version will be published on this page with the updated revision date.
